The long leather straps make them easy to carry on your shoulder, with plenty of room for essentials and new purchases.
Mifuko baskets are woven by hand using traditional techniques. Basket weaving brings employment to areas where there are few other sources of livelihood apart from small-scale farming, which is more and more unpredictable due to climate change. Mifuko supports local entrepreneurship and community building through self-help groups. The women in these groups meet weekly to discuss, weave baskets and pass on traditional craft skills. Basket weaving gives rural women the opportunity for economic independence as the groups provide loans to members in need, enabling them to plan for the future and invest in family welfare or small business. In addition to self-help groups, some of our home décor items are handmade in Fair Trade workshops..

The handles and straps are leather. - These products are handwoven from natural materials, wool yarn, paper twine, sisal or palm, which makes them flexible and soft to the touch. Wool is known as an insulating, durable and easy-care natural material. The wool we use is surplus wool from the carpet industry. The paper we use is FSC certified and can be fully recycled at the end of its lifecycle.
The handles and straps of our products are made from locally sourced leather. The leather is vegetable tanned, a process that uses organic materials and natural tannins derived from the bark, leaves and branches of trees and plants. - Made by Mifuko, a Finnish design company with a mission to bring joy to our customers while improving the welfare of women in rural areas of Africa. Mifuko is a proud member of the WFTO, a respected network of social enterprises engaged in Fair Trade. Its members must demonstrate that they put people and the planet first, and that they adhere to Fair Trade principles.

- Rajlakshmi Cotton Mills is a pioneer in organic garment manufacturing in India which seeks to combine high-quality tailoring with a fair deal for farmers and workers, whilst supporting local environmental and social projects. People Tree and Rajlakshmi believe both in social sustainability as well as environmental sustainability, which is why we choose organic cotton. Organic cotton is grown without the use of insecticides, pesticides and nitrogen fertilisers. Not only does this reduce the cost by 38% for farmers, but it also protects them from being exposed to toxic chemicals and eliminates the greenhouse gas emissions created though the production of these chemical fertilizers. Through organic farming, soils remain healthy and sequester more carbon helping to mitigate climate change. Water consumption is reduced up to 91%, and there is a 40% reduction of C02 emissions per tonne of cotton fibre.

Print: The Moomin Family (Moominpappa, Moominmamma and their son Moomintroll), are trolls who live in magical Moominvalley along with Snufkin, Little My, Snorkmaiden and many others. Their Finnish creator, Tove Jansson (1914-2001), wrote and illustrated many Moomin books and comic strips, beginning with The Moomins and the Great Flood in 1945.

V&A Harebell Dress is a gathering of exquisite details that make a feminine dress. The overall effect is fresh, pretty and eminently wearable.
